***###Miss Indepednence###***

Anika is becoming very independent.

However there are still the odd occasions
where she thinks she is little.

She is growing up.

It starts with sitting on the swing

and soon talking on the phone,

driving the car, flying a plane

wearing high heals,

wearing her undies on the outside...

...No that’s not right!!!!!

{Gone Fishing}

We went to the river one fine afternoon.
Dad went fishing.
Anika and I went to a nice part of the river that was gently flowing. Anika loved to play in the water and I tried to teach her how to skip stones. She gave it a good go, but soon discovered it was more exciting to make a big splash with the stones.
Because Dad was fishing, Anika made a pool for the fish Dad caught to go into it. She thought that the pool was just right for her and there was no fish yet.
Anika saw Dad fishing back down the river, so she was keen to go see him. No fish this day.

Children’s Day was lots of fun. First off, we had Anika’s children’s Day early, because Dad had to work.
We went to a local park for a play and then got McDonald’s had went to another park that had ducks. Anika loved to chase the ducks, but did not like it when the ducks chased her.

Then on the actual Children’s Day, Anika cousins Emily and Charlotte come to play. We called to see if Anika’s other cousin Xander want to come and play.
Aunty Terri suggested we go to the beach instead.
So off to the beach we went.
Anika's Opa and Oma joined us as while.

The girls had a lot of fun. Anika and Charlotte seemed to be eating more sand than anything else. It was a great day.

BUILDING
Anika has her own tool box and has been helping Dad building the new front garden.

She has been digging the holes, sorting out the nails for Dad, and cutting the wood.

It all gets too much for her and she has to take breaks.

Now the Dad has finished the building side of things, Anika is helping me do the plants. Oh what a helpful girl she can be.

Summer Hoilday
in
WELLINGTON

Anika and I went to Wellington for the summer holidays.

We stayed at friends, Robby and Yvonne’s for a week.

On arriving in Wellington, Anika could not get over the big high buildings. Her mouth was wide open in amazement.

Anika loved the view from Robby and Yvonne's place, it over looked the Wellington harbour.

Anika loved to watch the red tug boats go out to bring the big ships in.

While we were there we went the Wellington Zoo and Anika saw some big animals. She is saw that this is a good friend of hers or maybe a relative, she it not sure.

Anika also got to experiences the beach for the first time. She was a little unsure of the water coming and going, but loved to run out of the water.

She thought it was very fun when we both got our legs water.

Anika missed her best
friend the most.

Some extra photos of me

My Cousins

These are my crazy cousins. Charlotte and Emily on the left and Xander on the right. We all get into some crazy things and lead each other astray. Wait until we are older.

My Grandparents

This is my Grandad and we have fun playing in the garden. We find worms and snails that I like to assist in helping them move faster (sometimes they do not survive).

This is my Gran and we spend time looking at the fish swimming in the tank and playing with toys. I enjoy spending time with her.

This is my Oma. I enjoy watching her do cooking and baking in the kitchen. Maybe one day she will teach me some of her tricks.

And this is my Opa. We play games together and find fun things to get into.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
I am one year old and had such a great birthday.
All my family and friends were around to celebrate my birthday with me.

I had on my party dress and was already to party

All of my cousins helped me with opening my presents. I think they just wanted to play with my toys. Emily my big cousin was a helper when it came to opening the presents she knew what to do. Charlotte and Xander just wanted to play.

My birthday cake was chocolate and on top Winnie the Pooh and all his friends where having a birthday party for me. My great aunty made it for me and I think it was pretty cool. Mum has kept Winnie and his friends and will let them dry so I can keep them. It was a yummy cake.

**My First Holiday**

This is mum and me up on Mt Ruapehu playing in the snow. I was a little unsure what the white stuff was. Mum tried to get me to hold the snow but it was too cold for me (I’m just like my Dad when it comes to cold things).

We are on the Happy Valley Ski Slope at Whakapapa Ski Field. We walked down to the slope and when we arrived Mum had forgotten to bring the camera so Dad when back to the ute and took some photos.

To show that we had been there, Mum wrote my name in the snow, you can just see it in front of Mum’s feet.

------
Mum already entered the photo of me patting the lion cub, but there was a lot more animals that I saw. We went to a place called Paradise Valley, at Rotorua.
The photo is of me and Dad in a cave looking at the big trout swimming around in their pool. I think Dad wished he had his fishing rod with him.
I thought the pig was a little smelly and the swans loud, however I loved feeding the little sheep.
------
This is Opa and me enjoying the hot pools at Kawerau, in the Bay of Plenty. The pool was a nice 38 degrees. We spent most of the morning in the pool. I enjoyed swimming with my Opa, Oma, Uncle Jack, Aunty Terri, Xander, Mum and Dad. I enjoyed watching my cousin Xander running after a ball.
